Representative Match

Hackney Under 11’s 1, Waltham Forest Under 11’s 1

Waltham Forest piled on the early pressure at Douglas Eyre but failed to find the target and it was Hackney who  looked the most likely team to score as they came into the game. Efforts from Anselmo Gomes and Aidan Diniz went close and brought an interesting but goalless first half to a  close.

The visitors again dominated play for a while, but Hackney looked dangerous on the break and when Muhammadu Faal was brought down in the box, Hackney’s skipper, Sean Clare, stepped up to place a perfect penalty kick beyond the goalkeeper to give his side the lead.

Still Waltham Forest came back, gaining control in midfield, and they seized  on a poor clearance to provide striker Robert Manson with the opportunity to chip the ball over the advancing goalkeeper and level the scores.

Further chances came at both ends but both teams can be well satisfied with their performances in what was a thoroughly entertaining game.
