Hackney Under 11’s 1, Bermondsey Under 11’s 0
Hackney were made to work hard for their first victory of 2008, but Mohammadu Faal’s 20th minute strike proved to be the difference between the two sides. Faal’s goal came when he took Luke Primmet’s right-wing cross on the turn to hammer the ball home.
Hackney were then forced on to the back foot for a while as Bermondsey gained ascendancy in mid-field but the dominance of Sean Clare and Gradi Milenge at the back meant that the home side’s goal was rarely threatened.
At the other end, Anselmo Gomes Co showed control and pace on the left but Hackney could not add to their first-half lead.
