Barking & Dagenham Under 11’s  3,  Hackney Under 11’s  0.

 

Hackney had to make late changes to their line-up on Saturday but they more than held their own in a goal-less first half at Dagenham. The home side showed their strength in midfield but Anselmo Gomes Co on the left and Aron Gordon up front tested their defence several times, Gordon firing just wide after twenty minutes.

 

It took another ten minutes for Barking to break through with a rather bizarre goal. A harmless looking effort somehow evaded a static defence and unsighted goalkeeper Ed Shepherd and rolled into the net.

 

Hackney rallied briefly, striker Muhammadu Faal breaking clear only to be thwarted by a clumsy challenge form the home goalkeeper which went unpunished, but Barking’s physical strength began to tell and they struck twice more in the closing stages for a comfortable victory.
