Lester Finch Trophy

Camden Under 11’s 2,   Hackney Under 11’s 0

Hackney skipper Sean Clare put in an eye-catching defensive performance at Regent’s Park but his efforts  proved to be  fruitless  as Camden snatched their first Lester Finch victory of the season.

Clare dominated the early play at the back, breaking up several threatening raids by Camden’s lively forwards, while at the other end, midfielder Luke Primmet came close for Hackney when he flicked Tre Morgan’s left-wing cross just wide of the post.

Camden went ahead just before the interval as they finally outpaced Hackney’s defence but the visitors then took control in the second period but could only trouble the home goalkeeper twice. As Hackney sacrificed defence for attack, Camden added a second and decisive goal in the final minutes.
