Bexley Under 11’s 2, Hackney Under 11’s 0.

All seventeen members of Hackney’s squad featured in this inter-district match at Crayford, but the team suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of powerful Bexley.

The Kent side moved swiftly into a 2-0 lead as they subjected the Hackney defence to almost continuous pressure for the first fifteen minutes and it took half-time changes to bring about a recovery for the visitors. This was led by Abdu Mugabo in midfield and striker Charlie Waite who twice went close following dazzling left-wing runs, but despite controlling much of the play, Hackney could not break through.

• Hackney Under 11’s face a journey to Brent on Saturday when they play their 1^st Round Crisp Shield tie. Kick-off is 10.30a.m. at The JFS Ground, The Mall, Kingsbury.
